Embracing our Rural Roots

We’re excited to share that we have recently moved our office to the lovely town of Fergus, Ontario! For anyone who may not be familiar with Fergus, it is a small town (some would say mid-size town with a population of approximately 20,000) within the Township of Centre Wellington, right in the heart of Wellington County. One of the best features of Fergus is that a river literally runs through it – the Grand River, a nationally recognized Canadian Heritage River, carves a path through limestone cliffs right through the historic downtown. And we are now just steps from all of this beauty. Happy day!

The other part of this move that makes us happy is that part of our core philosophy as a company is to support vibrant rural communities. And what better way to do that then to set up our office in the main business district of one of Ontario’s most iconic small towns? We are excited to ‘walk the talk’ by contributing to the local business community in Fergus and Centre Wellington (and we really like our coffee so we’ll definitely do our part with the local coffee shops!).

The final cool part about moving Wilton Consulting Group to Fergus is the thriving agricultural sector both here, and in Wellington County more broadly. Agriculture is a key component of the local economy with thriving dairy, beef, poultry, grains and oilseeds, vegetable production (and so much more) contributing to the local economy and food system, as well as to provincial, national, and international markets. We can’t think of a better home for our team who cares so deeply about all things agriculture, food, and rural communities. So if you find yourself in Fergus any time soon, let us know and we’ll be happy to share a pint of local beer (or a beverage of your choice of course) with you! And who knows, we might even hear some bagpipes if we’re lucky.
