In an increasingly connected world, many opportunities exist to use technology to drive business development. Sometimes, things progress so quickly it can be difficult to pinpoint what can be done on the ground to fully harness the power of connectivity. Our team developed a guidebook to help farmers in Wellington County leverage connectivity for their farm businesses.
Developing a Practical Resource for Rural Ontario
The guidebook walks readers through everything from what the Internet is and how to get connected to some of the innovative on-farm technologies that require connectivity. This guidebook connects readers to County of Wellington staff, who can direct them to resources as they integrate the Internet and the associated tools and technologies into their farm businesses.
The guidebook also highlights the ways in which Wellington County farmers employ technology at different scales to improve production, management, and/or communications to grow their businesses.
3,720 copies of the Guidebook were delivered to farms across Wellington County.
